Gary has lived in the Charlotte area since 1974 and has owned several properties in the Charlotte real estate market.  His first investment property was in Indian Trail Real Estate in Forest Park subdivision, just off Independence past Stallings Road. 

Gary said one of the parents on his Sunday School bus route had divorced and the husband was left with the kids.  He told Gary if he would just get his mortgage caught up and give him enough money to rent an apartment that Gary could buy his house.  So that's what Gary did, of course the home needed lots of repairs but Gary was still able to make about $8000 after his expenses on his first Charlotte Real Estate purchase.  And by the way this was 1982. 

After that Gary bought and sold several other Charlotte homes.  He said he remembered a specific one near Mint Hill that he bought from the builder.  Gary Said the builder had agreed to pay 2 points to pay the loan down to a certain rate. 

So when they signed the contract Gary had the builder agree if he didn't have to pay the points that the cost of the points would be paid to Gary at closing.  But at closing the builder forgot this statement, but of course Gary kept the signed statement, and the builder finally agreed to pay the 2 points to Gary at closing.
